Obituary of John F. Cocot

John Cocot of Monticello, a retired carpenter, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his home in Monticello surrounded by his family. He was 82.
The son of the late Edward J. Cocot and Carrie Fischer Cocot, he was born April 27, 1926 in Monticello.
A veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II, John was an avid outdoorsman and a loving husband, father & grandfather.
He is survived by a his wife: Jean, at home; four daughters: Alice Coney & her husband Bill of Monticello, Bonnie Neadom & her husband Randy of Woodbourne, Cindy Stewart & her husband Greg of New Egypt, NJ and Dayle MacDowell & her husband Robbie of Highlands, NJ; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Salisbury of Cochecton and Johanna Morris & her husband Earl of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Joseph & Edward; and two sisters: Emma & Gloria.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 21 from 10:30 to 11:00am at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His memorial service will then begin at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Jay Wallace officiating.
