Obituary of Carole Anne Forte

Carole Anne Forte of Wurtsboro, a medical receptionist for New York State Corrections, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 59. The daughter of the Hildora Mahirka Wolfe and the late Chester Wolfe, she was born September 15, 1949 in Beacon. She was the widow of Anthony J. Forte MD, who predeceased her on March 27, 2004. A communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wurtsboro, Carole was also the treasurer for the Wurtsboro Boy Scouts, Troop #92. She is survived by a son: Shayne Childress & his wife Mayra Melendez of Tucson, AZ; her mother: Hildora Wolfe of Wurtsboro; four grandchildren: Antonio & Marisol Childress and Anthony & Alex Shirdon; a brother: Paul Wolfe & his wife Renate of Wappingers Falls; two sisters: Patricia Merando & her husband William of Cuddebackville and Donna Centeno of Wurtsboro; her step daughter: Gabrielle Shirdon & her husband Jason of Littletown, PA; and a sister-in-law: Laurie Wolfe of Wappingers Falls; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her father and husband, she was predeceased by a brother: Michael J. Wolfe; a niece: Mariah Merando; and a stepson: Andre Forte. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16 at 10:00am at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.
