Joseph Paul Malanga, a self-employed house painter, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at the ORMC-Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 82. The son of the late Frank Malanga & Felicia Natiella Malanga, he was born October 16, 1926 in the Bronx. Mr. Malanga was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro, as well as the Mamakating Seniors. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Florence Phillips Malanga, at home; a son, Paul Malanga & his wife, Diane of Oak Ridge, NJ; a daughter, Phaedra Klementowski & her husband, Ron of Olathe, KS; five grandchildren: Kristin, Katie, Jonathan, Matthew & Daniel; one great grandchild, Karina, and a sister, Eleanor Calciano & her husband, Frank of Hopewell Junction. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters: Mary, Frances, Ann & Louise and a brother, Richard. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.
