Obituary of Dorothy Kozachuk

Dorothy Kozachuk of Hurleyville, a retired assistant manager for Woolworths Department Store in Monticello, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Sullivan Co. Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 93. The daughter of the late Marion and Minnie Ennist, she was born December 15, 1914 in Hurleyville. She was the widow of Stephen Kozachuk who predeceased her in 1976. Dorothy was a founding member of the United Methodist Church of Hurleyville serving with the ladies auxiliary; and attended the United Methodist Church in Monticello in her later years. She is survived by three sons: Stephen Kozachuk of Forestburgh, John Kozachuk of South Fallsburg and Ronald Kozachuk of Charlotte, NC; four daughters: Jeannette Monti of Monticello, Ann Kurthy of Harris, Irma Maldonado of Rutherford, NJ and Iva Krom of Neversink; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a sister: Hylia Jane Pustola of Wallkill; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons: Stephen & Joseph; a grandson: James; four sisters: Pauline, Helen, Clara & Hilda; and a brother: Percy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Pinto officiating. Burial will follow at the Hurleyville Cemetery.
