Obituary of Matilda Bowie

Matilda "Tillie" Bowie of Wurtsboro, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center-Skilled Nursing Unit in Harris. She was 92.
Tillie was born March 17, 1916 in Port Glasgow, Scotland and raised by her aunt and uncle, Robina & Alexander McCaw. She was the widow of James Bowie who predeceased her on June 12, 1979.
She attended the Community Church of Wurtsboro and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Tillie is survived by a daughter-in-law: Margaret Bowie of Chester; two grandsons: Douglas Bowie & his wife Cory, and Colin Bowie; and two great grandchildren: Taylor & James. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son: George Bowie.
Funeral services will be private and burial will be held in the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
Memorial contribution can be made to the charity of ones choice.
