Obituary of Jetta Deloris Forshay

Jetta Deloris Forshay, Mimi, a retired sales clerk for Jamesway Department Store in Monticello, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 77. The daughter of the late George Cavins & Rosemary Gollie Cavins, she was born April 2, 1931 in Pike County, Kentucky. An avid gardener and reader, Mimi lived her life for her family. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Monticello and was the widow of John B. Forshay Sr. who predeceased her in 1964. She is survived by a son: John B. Forshay Jr. of Monticello; three daughters: Vicki Prince of Peoria, AZ, Cheri L. Green of Ashville, NC and Leslie C. Rogge of Ellenville; a sister: Jean Vazzano of Whittier, CA; eight grandchildren: Barbara, John, Irving, Don, Cristy, Jeremiah, Nicole & Joshua; eight great grandchildren: Krysten, Yasmin, Donovan, Donte, Maria, Fiona, Irving, Jr. & Darian; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. John Thomason officiating. Burial will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley.
