Obituary of Joey O'Connell

Joey OConnell of Monticello died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 54.
The son of the late Joseph OConnell and Gabrielle Bates OConnell, he was born November 20, 1953 in New York City.
Joey was the proud Director of Education for Never Alone Adolescents Center in Hurley and was very devoted to his students and co-workers.
He is survived by his fianc: Karen Murray of Sunnyside, Queens; two sisters: Cate Bonanno & her husband Paul of So. Plainfield, NJ and Bernadette OConnell of Wurtsboro; a niece: Jillian OConnell of Woodside, Queens; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother: Cyril OConnell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8 from 6-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening at 8:00pm at the funeral home.
