Obituary of Anna Mae Redmond

Mrs. Anna Mae Redmond, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, entered into rest Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. The daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Fowler, she was born June 15, 1941 in Wilmington, NC. Anna Mae worked as a secretary for City College and for the United States Postal Service, both in New York City and was a former leasing agent for the Sutton Hill Apts in Middletown. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #77 in New York City and a member of the New York State Sheriffs Association. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years: Freddie L. Redmond; one sister in law: Arlene Myrick; three children: Denee J. Taylor, Bridget Jacobs Clark, and Clifton Jacobs Jr. all of Middletown. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Christina Jacobs, Amy Jacobs, Trevor Joyner, Caressa Taylor, Kimberly Clarke, Victoria Jacobs, Jenniefer Taylor, Arsenio Jacobs, Phillip Jacobs, Deanna Jacobs and Aniaya Jacobs. She also leaves behind her sons-in-law: Joseph B. Taylor Jr. and John W. Clark; daughter in law: Wendy Jacobs; grandson-in-law: Antonio Clarke; and granddaughter-in-law: Tonya Joyner. She also had 16 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her late first husband: Clifton Jacobs; and mothers-in-law: Carrie Goodman and Sadie Mae Redmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Christian Childrens Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond VA 23294.
