Ronald L. Houman, 59 April 18, 1949 September 7, 2008 Monticello, NY Ronald Lawrence Houman of Monticello, a corrections officer for the Orange County Sheriffs Dept., died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 59. The son of the late Jacob Houman and Adeline Rynerson Houman, he was born April 18, 1949 in Carbondale, PA. Ron was a member of the Monticello BPOE Elks Lodge #1544; the White Oak Hunting Camp; and was with the Honor Guard for the Orange Co. Sheriffs Dept. He is survived by his wife: Patricia Stillwell Houman, at home; his children: Lori Houman of Forest City, PA, Patrick Houman of Texas, Benjamin Houman & his wife Sara of Forest City, PA, Charles William Lynch & his wife Jackie of Mongaup Valley, Tammy Lynch of Liberty & Eric Lynch & his wife Treva of Archerville, NC; a brother William Houman & his wife Irene of Oldsmar, FL; two sisters: Elsie Guszick and Rosemary Degma, both of Forest City, PA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Jacob, Nicholas & Edward Houman; and two sisters: Theresa and Barbara Ann. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
