Obituary of Georgianne Wearing

Georgianne Wearing, a Bus Attendant for Rolling V Bus Corporation died Monday, August 18, 2008 with her daughter Sharon holding her hand at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY, after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was 65. The daughter of the late Hannah Snell and George Wearing, she was born on December 8, 1942 in Eutawville, South Carolina. She was a resident of Monticello for over 48 years and a member of The First Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board. Survivors include her daughter Sharon Haddock of Silver Spring, MD; two sons, Jeffery Snell of Middletown, NY and Earl Wearing of New York, NY; three daughters she raised, Sheila, Jennifer and Christine Davis all of Monticello, NY; two sisters, Nancy Jenkins and Willa Mae Richardson of Eutawville, SC; two brothers, Lewis Snell of Stamford, CT and Henry Snell of Cary, NC; one aunt, Mary Lee Jenkins of Florence, SC; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; her dedicated and devoted friends, Beluah Davis, Patty Croissant, Michael Brennan and Ella Snowden; and a huge host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, foster children, cousins and close friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Monticello, Liberty Street in Monticello. Her funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with The Rev. James Matthews officiating. Final resting services will be held at the St. James Baptist Church on Sunday, August 24 at 3:00 pm with The Rev. Wayne A. Shaw officiating.
