Mabel Wrenn, 95, of Monticello, NY, passed away at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY on August 18, 2008. She was the widow of the late Rev. Jesse Wrenn, former pastor of Kings Chapel Mission. Born in Galveston, TX on April 21, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Harriet (Spiller) Robinson. She was a graduate of Central High School in Galveston and attended Wiley College in Marshall, TX. On August 7, 1931, Jesse and Mabel Wrenn were united in holy matrimony in New York, NY. They moved to Monticello in 1949 where they founded Kings Chapel Mission. Mabel Wrenn, a devoted wife and strong supporter of the church, helped the congregation to grow and to thrive. Rev. and Mrs. Wrenn were foster parents to over twenty children who were blessed to be placed under their loving care. Among family left to mourn are: Kenneth Morrison (Brenda) of Mays Landing, NJ, Dave Brownbill of New York, NY, Joyce Simpson (Neal) of Bartonsville, PA, Anita Hunt-Armstead (Jonathan) of Easton, PA, Barbara Webster of Gaithersburg, MD, Edward Diaz, Carletta Jones, Michelle Jones, and Jessie Jones of New York, NY. Along with them are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and godchildren. A host of friends and a spiritual family mourn her passing. Friends may call Friday, August 22 from 7-9 p.m. at the Kings Chapel Mission, 15 Spring Street, Monticello, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 23 at Kings Chapel Mission, 15 Spring Street, Monticello, NY with the Suffragan Bishop Leon Williams officiating.
