Obituary of Vincent E. O'Connor

Vincent Edward O'Connor of the Bronx, a stagehand for CBS News in New York City, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 80. The son of the late Vincent Edward O'Connor, Sr. and Dorothy Sutton OConnor, he was born February 13, 1928 in the Bronx. A 1946 graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, Vincent was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Era. He was also a former member of the New York City Police Dept., Mounted Division and was the widower of Ruth OConnor. He is survived by a son: Vincent J. O'Connor of the Bronx; a sister: Dorothy Mirabella of Ferndale; his nieces and nephews: Joseph Mirabella, Susan Mirabella, Dawn Mirabella Lewis, Peter Cubita, Paul Cubita, Anthony Allis, Barbara Allis, Beatrice Allis and Arthur Allis; his great niece & nephew: Allison Lewis and Nicholas Lewis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22 at 9:30am at St. Peters Church, 264 No. Main Street in Liberty with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-On-Hudson.
