Obituary of Elizabeth M. Totten

Elizabeth Liz Marie Totten, a retired postmaster for the Summitville Post Office died Monday, February 18, 2008 at her home in Phillipsport. She was 73. The daughter of the late Bernard Brannigan and Margaret Mary Cloherty, she was born March 18, 1934 in the Bronx. Liz was also a member of St. Marys and St. Andrews Church in Ellenville; as well as a past Commissioner for the Summitville Fire District, and an Avon representative for 20 years. She is survived by two sons: William Totten, Jr. & his wife JoMarie of Milford, PA and Christopher Totten of Ellenville; two daughters: Laura Arango & her husband Luis of Phillipsport and Gabrielle Baudendistel & her husband Keith of Phillipsport; her grandchildren: Hope, William III and Rachel Totten, Karina and Luis Arango, and Teresa Baudendistel; sister-in-law: Nancy Brannigan of Sloatsburg; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband: William Totten Sr. in 1996; and two brothers: Thomas & Bernard Brannigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 22 at 11:00am at St. Marys and St. Andrews Church, Route 209 in Ellenville. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date in the St. Josephs Cemetery in Wurtsboro. Memorial contributions can be made to the Summitville Fire Dept., P.O.
