Obituary of Julia A. Johnson

Julia A. Johnson, a retired manager of JoAnns Nut House formerly in the Orange Plaza and lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the ORMC-Horton Campus in Middletown. She was 70. The daughter of the late James F. Haskin Sr., and Agnes Haskin, she was born February 12, 1937 in Middletown. Julia cared for her mother for many years until her mothers passing on December 14, 2004. She was also a volunteer for the Remember Me Thrift Shop; a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church; a former den mother for Cub Scouts Pack 57; and a charter member of the Bloomingburg Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Julia loved her family and treasured her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years: George M. Buddy Johnson, Sr., at home; her children: George M. Johnson, Jr. & his wife Sandra, James Johnson & his wife Debra, and JoAnn Roe & her husband Joseph B. Roe III; her grandchildren: Gary B. Mann, Jr. & his wife Danielle, Jessica L. Johnson, Joseph J. Bruning, George R. Johnson, Diana M. Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Kristy L. Bruning and Joseph B. Roe IV; her siblings: Betty A. Haskin, Patricia M. Orzeck, William R. Haskin, Robert J. Haskin and James F. Haskin Jr. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson: Eric P. Hosking. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.
