Atiyah Jher-rie Brown July 6, 1999-January 9, 2008 Monticello, NY Atiyah Jher-rie Brown, born July 6, 1999, blessed us with her presence for eight beautiful years and returned to the arms of the Lord on January 9, 2008. The daughter of Maxine Horace, Tia lived each day to the fullest and had a quiet strength and resilience to battle the obstacles that were placed upon her at birth. Her personality characterized as mischievous and diva-like, yet gentle, endeared her to all who knew her. Tia had the ability to make others laugh and smile just for being Tia. Tia is survived by her mother, Maxine Horace; her brother, Briar Patterson; step-father, Christopher Cox; her poppie; special brothers, Zarius Brown, Kyrell Brown, and Tyrell Cox; special sisters, Jenequa Brown and Shambrial Brown; great-aunts, Roberta Horace, Janette Williams, and Helen Bonner; great-uncles, Gary Horace and Harold Horace; cousin and best friend forever Tynae Armstead; other mothers, Christina Ortiz-Butler, Claribel Abreu, and Helen Brophy; special mother Ruth Sweezer; Center for Discovery Family, Terri and Stacey; and her Directions Family, Michelle and Yvette. Tia was predeceased by her grandmother Jurdine Horace and great aunts Virgina Brown and Patricia Horace, and her great grandparents, Hosea and Myrtle Horace. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15th from 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, in Monticello. Services for Tia will be held on Wednesday Morning, January 16th at 12:00pm at the Bethlehem Temple Church on Fairground Road in Monticello, with Rev. Mervin Armstead officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
