Monroe Lee Bowers of Monticello, a retired tech sergeant in the United States Air Force died Friday, December 21, 2007 at his home. He was 55. The son of Ellen Lucinda Logan Bowers and the late Rancy Bowers, he was born November 23, 1952 in Monticello. He is survived by his mother: Ellen Bowers of Monticello; his wife: Pi Pao Feng Bowers of Taiwan; a son: Lee F. Bowers of Taiwan; a brother: William S. Bowers of Shreveport, LA; four sisters: Joyce Martin of Detroit, MI, Rosemary Bussey of Apex, NC, Linda White of Houston, TX and Patricia Thomas of Severn, MD; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Williams will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Kings Chapel Mission, Spring Street, Monticello, NY 12701. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
