On December 7, 2007, Carmela Rose "Millie" Sorrentino ascended on the wings of the angels into the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. She was 86. The daughter of the late Luigi Sorrentino and Frances Graziano Sorrentino, she was born September 29, 1921 in New York City. She is survived by her daughter: Frances Salewski & her husband John of Bloomingburg; two grandchildren: Susanne Salewski of Wurtsboro Hills and John Salewski & his wife Mindy of Port Charlotte, FL; two great grandchildren: Kylie & Jessica Boniface; a sister: Ann Sangiamo & her husband Nick of Lakewood, NJ; and was also loved by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Filomina Valentino & her husband Frank; and two brothers: Joseph & Frank Sorrentino. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 at the funeral home. With much respect and appreciation, Carmelas family would also like to thank Hospice, especially Dawn Allan, Colette Benedict and Viola Prottas, for providing her with excellent care.
