Walter Thomas Dresch, Sr., a retired accountant from Fairchild Republic in Farmingdale, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. He was 80.
The son of the late Henry Dresch and Margaret Farrell Dresch, he was born October 16, 1927 in Brooklyn.
A veteran of the United States National Guard, he was a member of St. Peters RC Church in Monticello and the Sullivan County RC Flying Club.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Yeomans Dresch, at home; loving father of: Jerry & Linda Dresch of Snellville, GA, William & Mary Dresch of Atlanta, GA, Verna & James Prokos of Vestal, NY, Thomas & Patricia Dresch of Vestal, NY, Deborah & John Catalano of Newport News, VA, Patrick Dresch of Liberty, NY, Margaret & Joseph McLoughlin of Farmingdale, NY and Walter T. Dresch, Jr. of Liberty, NY; loving stepfather of Virginia Soule and Ralph Soule, both of Swan Lake, NY; loving grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Genevieve; and a son: Christopher J. Dresch.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6 at 10:00am at St. Peters Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Fr. Robert Ginel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery in Monticello.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, Mid-Hudson Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4027.
