Obituary of Elsie M. Carlin

Elsie M. Carlin of Yankee Lake, a retired dispatcher for the Town of Mamakating Highway Dept., died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the ORMC Horton Campus in Middletown. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Dewitt Lester and Ada Wood Lester, she was born August 5, 1918 in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Arnold J. Carlin who predeceased her on October 9, 1982.
Elsie was a member of the Community Church of Wurtsboro, the Mamakating Seniors (a former Sullivan County Senior of the Year), the Mamakating Lions Club; and was a frequent helper at the Chase School in Wurtsboro.
She is survived by a son: Gerald M. Carlin & his wife Bonnie G. Sanger-Carlin of Long Beach, NY; twelve grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and four nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26 and on Tuesday, November 27 from 2-4 & 7-9pm both days, at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
