Charles M. Cherry III of Monticello, N.Y. died peacefully Monday, November 19th, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 69.
Born in Rochester on July 27, 1938, he was pre-deceased by parents Charles and Frances Cherry and stepfather Philip Vandervoort. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 and was a retired furniture maker.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 46 years: Audrey Ehrets Cherry; a sister: Virginia Prokosch of Monticello; four sons: Charles Cherry IV of Deltona Florida, Phillip Cherry of Queen Creek Arizona, William Cherry of Monticello and Christopher Cherry of Yankee Lake; two granddaughters: Christina and Jennifer of Deltona, Florida; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Chuck was devoted to his family and will live on in their hearts.
Services will be private at the request of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
