Obituary of Eric Alfred Neumann

Eric Alfred Neumann, a technician for Combined Energy Services in Monticello, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at his home in Liberty. He was 59. The son of the late Eric H. Neumann and Esther Buynar Bass Neumann, he was born April 29, 1948 in San Diego, CA. Eric was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam from 1968-1969, with Company C 2nd Battalion 5th Cavalry, First Air Cavalry where he earned three Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He was also a member of the 5th US Cavalry Association, the Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the Clarence Hoyt VFW Post in Liberty. He is survived by his wife: Ellen Ann Kreiter Neumann, at home; two daughters: Geri Neumann & her husband Craig Duffy of Liberty and Barbi Neumann-Marty & her husband Daniel of Parksville; his grandchildren: EllenRose & Erin Duffy of Liberty and Dianna & Sofia Marty of Parksville; a sister: Pamela Neumann Murphy & her husband Thomas of Callicoon; an aunt: Estelle Buynar of Nyack; an uncle: Alfred Buynar of Virginia; his mother-in-law: Alice Dillon Kreiter; sisters-in-law: Margaret Kreiter Lindstadt and Kathleen Kreiter; and a brother-in-law: Peter Kreiter, all of Monticello; nephews: Kevin Murphy, Edward Lindstadt, Keith Restrepo & Kyle Kreiter; nieces: Kim Murphy and Suzanne Lindstadt; his beloved pet Boober, at home; and his brothers of the C 2/5 and the Obernburg Militia. A family statement reads: All gave some. Eric gave all. Visitation will be held (today) Monday, November 12 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sullivan Co. Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.
