Obituary of Shane Patrick McCullough

Shane Patrick Douglas McCullough, a resident of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Monticello, N.Y., died unexpectedly on July 2, 2007. Shane was born on March 17, 1979 in Harris, N.Y. to his beloved parents Leon Douglas McCullough and Wendy Thomas McCullough. Shane was known to his friends as "DUBBS", he had a heart of gold, his brown eyes and bright smile would light up a room. He was a caring and compassionate young man who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Leon and Wendy Thomas McCullough, he is survived by his brothers, Corey and Tristian McCullough; one sister, Tishanna Marie McCullough and two nephews, Jahir and Jamin McCullough, all of Monticello; maternal grandparents, Joyce Alexander and the late Rupert Alexander of Trinidad, West Indies and Eversely Thomas and his wife, Geraldine of Queens, N.Y.; aunts, Jacqueline Alexander-Lynch and her husband, Learie, Allison Alexander-Jack and her husband, Andy of Trinidad, West Indies, Sherma Alexander-Williams and her husband, Lenard of Monticello, N.Y., Ayana Thomas-Alleyne and her husband, Anderson, Betty Ann Thomas of Queens, N.Y., and Charlene McCullough of Manhattan, N.Y.; uncles, Brian Alexander and his wife, Margaret of Trinidad, West Indies, Lester Alexander and his wife, Alethea of Toronto, Canada, Derek Alexander of London, England, Everald Thomas of Queens, N.Y. and Leroy McCullough of Savannah, Ga.; great uncles, James McCullough, Robert McCullough and his wife, Mary of New York, Cecil Walters and his wife, Ann Marie of Monticello, N.Y., Roy Alexander and his wife, Ann of Brooklyn, N.Y., Frank Alexander of Trinidad, West Indies, Ulric, Victor, and Dave Walters of Trinidad, West Indies, Robbie Walters and his wife, Cheryl and Steve Walters and his wife, Margaret of Trinidad, West Indies; great aunts, Jean Dowridge and Grace Alexander of Trinidad, West Indies, Patsy Walters and Phyllis Edwards of Monticello, N.Y., Sarah McCullough of Philadelphia, Pa. and a host of cousins and long life friends. He is also survived by his extended family of Port Charlotte, Fla., Andrew and Colleen Nicotra, Andrew Jr. and Jessie Nicotra, Jacqueline Dipini, Elizabeth Picerno, Riannon Bowers, and Jessica J. Bent; God children, Antonio and Trinity Nicotra. Mr. McCullough was predeceased by his great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Walters, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy McCullough, Mr. and Mrs. Haigwood; his grandparents, Mr. Leroy McCullough and Mrs. Marie Brown; aunts, Sandra and Barbara McCullough; great uncles, Willie McCullough, Mikey and Keith Walters; cousins, Willie, Taima and Charlotte McCullough and Natasha Edwards Lawrence. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's R.C. Church on B'Way in Monticello, N.Y. Fr. Stanislaus Ogbonna officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's R.C. Cemetery in Monticello. The family invites all of Shane's family and friends back to their residence at 40 Fairchild Place, Monticello, NY 12701.
