Obituary of Kathleen M. Rogan

Kathleen M. Rogan, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 in Livermore, CA at the age of 89 years. The daughter of the late Thomas Lohan and Catherine Connor Lohan, she was born January 25, 1918 in County Galway, Ireland and lived there until age 19 when she was sponsored by an aunt and uncle to immigrate to America in 1937. She married John Rogan in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1970. She was a very active parishioner at St. Josephs Church in Wurtsboro, NY where she was a member of the Ave Maria Guild; and was also a member of the Mamakating Moose Lodge. In December of 2005 she moved to Livermore to be with her family. She enjoyed singing and gardening, and was pro-life. She is survived by her sons: John (Lynn) Rogan of Livermore, CA, Matthew Rogan of Monticello, and James (Jennifer) of Coral Springs, FL; five grandchildren: Ann, Kathleen, and Patrick of Livermore, CA, and John and Michael of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 26 at 10:00am at St. Josephs Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Fr. Peter Madori will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
