Obituary of Robert John Bocket

Robert J. Bocket Wolf Lake, NY Robert John Bocket, a retired carpenter, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at home. He was 81. The son of the late Andrew John Bocket & Edith Scott Bocket, He was born April 7, 1926 in Pearl River, NY. Robert graduated from the Pearl River High School in 1947. He was a baseball Umpire for High Schools and Colleges in the Rockland County area as well as for the National Assoc. of the Babe Ruth League. He was a Life Member of the VFW, Post 15033 Member at Large and the Mamakating VFW. He was a member of the Rockland Co. Umpires Association and a past member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife Noma Lauer Bocket at home: Four daughters: Jackie Kretser and her husband Andy, Jo Aiello and her husband Bill, Jeri Dinneen, and Jami Rubin and her husband Howard all residing in the Capital District: one brother Alfred Bocket and a sister Jane Cameron both of Pearl River: Ten Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, at 10:00 am at St. Josephs Church, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Fr. Peter Madori will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Sullivan & Orange County 800 Stony Brook Court Newburg, NY 12550.
