Obituary of Robert L. Cohen

Robert L. Cohen of Monticello, a glazier for W & W Glass in Nanuet, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 15, 2007 in the Town of Ramapo. He was 57. The son of Sol Cohen and the late Laura Wells Murran, he was born April 6, 1949 in Monticello. A veteran of the United States Army in Vietnam, he was also a member of Glaziers Local #1281 in New York City and the Ridgerunners Hunting Club in Harris. He is survived by his wife: Virginia E. Cohen, at home; his father: Sol Cohen & his wife Denise of Goshen; a son: Jeremy Cohen and a daughter: Tiffany Cohen & her fiance Bill Vanistenstal, all of Spring Hill, FL; four stepsons: Brian Messenger of Otisville, Neil Messenger of Round Top, John Messenger of Jeffersonville and Dylan Messenger of Monticello; five grandchildren: Gary, Collin and Mason Messenger, and Alex & Preston Cleveland; six brothers: Steven Cohen & his wife Kelly of Tucson, AZ, Scott Murran & his wife Kelly of Monticello, Jim Murran & his wife Pam of Rock Hill, Ira Cohen of Buffalo, David Cohen & his wife Victoria of San Francisco, CA and Adam Cohen & his fiance Kristin Smith of Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his stepfather: Stephen Murran. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 11:00am at the funeral home.
