Linda Akers, a lifelong resident of Monticello, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the home of her son Randy Akers, at the age of 68.
The daughter of the late Solomon Gerson and Catherine LaVecchia Gerson, she was born January 29, 1939 in Monticello.
She is survived by her children: Randy Akers & his wife Bernadette;, Tammi Helgeson, all of Monticello, and Robert Akers of Montrose; a sister: Jackie Kiefer & her husband Lou of Monticello; her grandchildren: Scott, Danielle, Eric, Dylan, Heather, Bob, Kevin, Caleb, Kathryn, Christopher & Christina; a great granddaughter: Emilee; a nephew: Ramon Cedeira & his fiance Kim Sonnenschein; a niece Denise Cedeira-Thornton & her husband Bill; a sister-in-law: Mary Jones from Virginia; and several aunts, uncles & cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 9 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Glen Wild Cemetery.
