Obituary of Edna M. Herbert

Edna M. Herbert of Wurtsboro died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 89. The daughter of the late Homer and Martha Conklin, she was born October 8, 1924 in Haverstraw. Edna worked at Letchworth Village Departmental Institute in Thiells, NY for 38 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved to crochet, knit and bake. A member of the Palisades Interstate Park Region Historical Society, her favorite past time was racing (NASCAR and Horses). She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving children: three sons, John “Herbie” Robinson of Bloomingburg, Richard “Ricky” Herbert of Congers, and Robert “Bobby” Herbert of Wurtsboro; two daughters: Teresa “Terry” Lanave of Greenwood, SC and Margaret “Peggy” Smith of Greenwood, SC; a brother: Benjamin Conklin of Grahamsville; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the widow of both Willard Robinson and Robert E. Herbert, and was also predeceased by a son: Willard “Billy” Robinson. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 7-9pm and Thursday, Nov. 14 from 3-5pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A prayer service will be held sometime Thursday afternoon. The family would like to thank the staff of Orange Regional Medical Center for their loving care of our mother.
