Beverly Lorraine Martin “Bev”, died July 6, 2013 at her home in Middletown. She was 48. Bev played junior varsity and varsity basketball, ran track & cross country for Lower East Preparatory High Beverly, and loved her white roller skates that she never wanted to part with. Beverly was a staple to her family and loved by all that knew her. No matter who you are in the family, near or far, when you heard Beverly’s name you would quickly attach it to Darryl, Rita, and Tuwanda. They were inseparable as young children, never wanting to leave one another. Beverly attended Sunday School at Mother Finn’s Church in Monticello as a young child. Beverly will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Survivors include two sons: John Alvin Martin of New York, NY, and James Edwin Martin of New York, NY; her parents John & Erma Martin (stepmother) of Monticello, NY; brothers: Darryl Martin and wife Stacey of St. Petersburg Fl, James Edwin Martin “Butterball” & wife Wanda Martin of Monticello, NY, Jerome Parrish Martin “Half-Pint” of Monticello, NY, and Shayne Fuller of Liberty NY. Sisters: Rita “Spade” Carroll of Newark, Delaware, Tuwanda Cheryl Martin of Monticello, NY, Tumeka Estelle Larkins & husband David Larkins of Landcaster CA; uncles: George Martin of Rome, NY, Herbert Martin of Rome, NY; Aunts: Ida Ann Carroll of Liberty NY; Pauline Armstead of Monticello NY; Louise Martin of Virgina; Ruth Bundy of Virginia; Nieces and nephews: David Jordan “Shnook”, Kirsten “Kissy”, KeArya “KeKe”, Jasmyne “Jazz”, Julixza “Crystal”, Joshua, Paxten “Pax”, Marlayna, Jahmeen, Zoe, Bryson, Gracie, Jesaley, Lluvia, Kushana; and Great niece: Aniyah. She was predeceased by her grandmother: Helen Estelle Martin; Great Grandmother: Laura Martin; Uncles: James Edwind Martin, “Uncle Boosey”, Edwin Martin and “Uncle Ed”; Aunts: Mae Carroll, Ida Barbour; Brothers: Joshua Amin Carroll “Spanky” and John Alvin Martin “Popeye”. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 11am at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
