Hector Ortiz Rodriguez, a retired butcher for the Concord Resort Hotel, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at his home in Monticello. He was 72. Hector was born March 12, 1941 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He is survived by a son: Joseph Hector Rodriguez & his wife Bridget of Smallwood; a daughter: Diana Herrera of Monticello; his companion: Ana Luz Reyes of Monticello; and five grandchildren: Lori, Paige, Tyler, Joey and Gabrielle. He was predeceased by a son: Jason Rodriguez; and a daughter: Lorie Marie Rodriguez. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 25 from 9am – 10:30am at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will then be celebrated on Friday at 11am at St. Peter’s Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
