Obituary of John Thomas DeSimone

John Thomas DeSimone "J.T." of Monticello, a gunsmith with Gander Mountain in Middletown who more recently worked in surveillance at the Monticello Casino and Raceway, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the Town of Thompson. He was 31. The son of Judith Ann LaGrutta-Gregory and John S. DeSimone, he was born September 3, 1982 in Port Jervis. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know Dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away. He is survived by his wife: Eileen Schauer DeSimone; two children: John David and Genevieve; his mother: Judy & her husband Danny Joe Gregory; his father: John DeSimone Jr.; a brother: Daniel Sparks; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Cecilia & Gene Cumming; a brother-in-law: JB Cumming; a sister-in-law: Michelle Schauer; his grandparents: Jackie and John DeSimone Sr., and Judy LaGrutta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family & friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 7 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 8 at 11am at St. Peter's Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello.
