Obituary of Justa Lopez

Justa Lopez, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at the blessed age of 102 years old. The daughter of the late Pedro Garcia Viera and Magdalena Estrada Garcia, she was born July 1, 1917 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. She is predeceased by her husband Eduardo Lopez Grullon; her brother, Francisco Garcia Estrada; her sisters: Maria Garcia, Ricarda Maldonado, Feliciana Clavie, Noelia Crespo, Ana Rodriguez and Myrna Gnatzy; her Son-In Law Rudolph John Slintak. She is survived by; her brothers, Carlos Garcia Estrada and Victor Garcia Estrada; her daughters Grecia Slintak and Nadia Kageff and her son Eduardo Lopez; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. After her children were grown she was hair stylist in New York City for over 50 years during which time she came in contact with many celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Jimmy Durante. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 11 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday July 12 at 10am at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Bloomingburg. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
