Robert DePace

Obituary of Robert Alan DePace

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert DePace passed away on January 22, 2019, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris after a short illness. He was 55 years old.

He was the son of Alice Dayton DePace and Alfred L. DePace, who are both deceased.  Robert was born in Cornwall Hospital and attended Port Jervis High School where he graduated in 1982. After high school, Robert became a longtime employee of the Rhulen Agency in Monticello where he was a known fixture in the mailroom and very popular amongst the other employees.  Following the sale of Rhulen, Robert worked at the old Shop Rite in Monticello for several years as well as many other short-term projects and positions for several other employers.

Those who knew Robert will remember him as an easy going, caring, kind and good-natured individual.  In spite of difficult circumstances throughout his life, his outlook was always positive, and his smile was infectious.  Robert loved to watch and play sports and was devoted to the Yankees, Rangers, Jets and Knicks.  A simple pleasure would be having a beer and watching a game with his beloved wife at a local restaurant.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Jesse Ann Palmer (DePace), who was his world.  He is also survived by a sister: Alice DePace, and a half brother John Dayton.  Robert was also a father to Robert Alan DePace Jr. In addition, several aunts, uncles and cousins survive him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 3 at 2:00pm at the St. John’s Episcopal Church, 15 St. John Street in Monticello.

The family would like to thank Achieve Nursing and Rehab Clinic for their caring efforts over the last few months.  Memorial contributions can be made to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY or to Sullivan/Orange ARC on East Broadway in Monticello.
