Nicholas Joseph DiIorio, a retired self-employed excavator, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at his home in Bloomingburg, New York surrounded by his loving family. He was 93. The son of the late Nicholas DiIorio and Margaret Brendli DiIorio, he was born February 8, 1925 in Staten Island, New York. At the age of 7, his family purchased a farm in Bloomingburg. Nicholas was honorably discharged and then married his loving wife, Josephine Marino, in 1947. They lived in North Haledon, New Jersey, where they raised their two children, Nancy and Nicholas. In 1973, Nicholas and Josephine returned to his family farm where they built their home and enjoyed their retirement. Josephine passed away in 1996. Nicholas then found a loving companion in Rose Reale and spent 15 years together until her passing. Throughout his life, Nicholas continued to enjoy country living, hunting and working on his farm, trucks and farm equipment. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Garofano & her husband Thomas of Wayne, NJ, a son Nicholas DiIorio & his wife Sharon of Sonoma, CA, his granddaughter Lisa Van Way & her husband David of Wayne, NJ and great granddaughter Jenna, his "little sweetie", who always brought a smile to his face and a twinkle to his eye. A special thank you to Dennis, Karen and Kayla Garofano, Joe and Sarah Vitale, and Jerry LaForte for their continued love and support.
