Obituary of Lucretia B. Williams

Lucretia Bonner Williams went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 95. The daughter of the late Edward and Rachel Bonner, she was born November 12, 1917 in Fairhope, Alabama. Ms. Williams found the Lord at the age of 10 at Twin Beech A.M.E. Zion Church of Fairhope, Alabama. She came to Monticello in 1952 where she met and married Fred Williams and then worked as a home health aide until she retired at the age of 80. She will be remembered for her many cakes that filled the bellies of her family, and for her quick wit. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter: Karolyn R. Wilson of Monticello; two granddaughters: Allison L. Smith of Monticello and Tammy J. Williams of Wappingers Falls; one great grandson: Alexander Smith of Monticello; her goddaughter: Deborah Allen; her close friend Armelda Bracey; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Fred Williams; her granddaughter: Stacy Wilson; a great grandson: Matthew Wms./Jones; and her brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21 from 11am to 1pm at the Bethlehem Temple Church, 93 Fairground Road in Monticello. Her funeral service will begin at 1pm at the church.
