Albert Rembert, a former appliance technician and longtime resident of Monticello, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, FL. He was 92. The son of the late Capp Rembert and Lessie Chaney, he was born September 5, 1925 in Demopolis, AL. He was the widow of Gladys Mae Rembert who predeceased him on May 2, 2012. Albert was involved in several organizations in various capacities throughout his life. His community affiliations included: the Elks of the IBPOE of W; Bethany Masonic Lodge 101, Starlight Chapter #74 PHOES, Sullivan County Branch NAACP and faithfully served as a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Monticello. He is survived by five sons: Pierre Finn and his wife Muriel of Virginia, Rene Finn of New Jersey, Dwayne Finn of Monticello, Johnathan Finn and his wife Lillian of Schenectady, and Sean Finn and his wife April of Florida; 15 grandchildren: Bianca, Sharina, Shaunte, Patricia, Sean, Shaquana, Julian, Marsall, Samantha, Kenya, Johnathan, Jr., Jessica, Iris, Eryn, Seana; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11 at First Baptist Church, 28 Liberty St, Monticello, NY from 6 to 9pm, with a Masonic Service starting at 7pm. A second visitation will be at the Church on Saturday, May 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. with Homegoing Services starting at 11am. Burial will follow at the Liberty Cemetery.
