Although her family was her greatest accomplishment, her wonderful garden was her pride and joy. Every year yielding a bumper crop of produce that was always shared with anyone who visited during the summer months. In winter months, she always had some of the vegetables preserved that would bring some of the summer treasures to the winter table. Betty would insist that any visitor enjoyed a good meal when coming to her home. Her home was a place of warm and comfortable to all that knew her and the beautiful flowers that surrounded her estate demonstrated her amazing green thumb. Betty's favorite time was when she had her grandchildren and great grandchildren around to play with and guide. She always remembered something special for each little one who came to visit. Betty is survived by two children: Hugh R. Cauthers Jr. of Goshen, and Nancy Cauthers Rhinebeck of Middletown; four grandchildren: James Price, Hugh R.
