Margaret M. "Peggy" Borré of Phillipsport, passed away on January 30, 2018 at the Orange Reginal Medical Center in Middletown. She was 83.
The daughter of the late Leonard Genovese and Theodore Chernetsky Genovese, she was born on November 9, 1934 in New York City.
Peggy attended Hunter College in New York City and after receiving her Master's Degree, she worked for many years as a beloved special education teacher for the New York City Board of Education. She enjoyed swimming, bowling, gardening and, of course, crossword puzzles, which she always finished.
She is survived by her husband Robert; and her son Robert Jr.; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, February 2 from 9-11am at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 noon at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, High Street in Bloomingburg. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
