Obituary of George L. Osborne Sr.

George L. Osborne Sr, a longtime resident of the area, died Friday, January 19, 2018, at the age of 82 years old.
The son of the late Alexander Osborne and Pearl (Marsh) Osborne, he was born March 26, 1935 in Suffern, NY, the last remaining of 13 siblings.
He is predeceased by his wife Violet of 60 years and two grandsons: George F. Osborne and Frankie Call Jr. He is survived by his two sons, George L. Osborne Jr. and his wife Mary of Bloomingburg, and Thomas K. DeNoyelles and his wife Joan of New City; four grandchildren: Frederick Osborne, Melissa Utter, Louise Paterno and Andrew Morris III; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and three sisters-in-law.
He was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Union, Local # 964/279; and enjoyed gardening, raising live-stock, hunting and fishing.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, January 23 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 24 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
