Obituary of Samuel J. Constantino

Samuel J. Constantino of Wurtsboro, a retired land surveyor for the Orange County DPW Tax Map Dept. died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Elant at Goshen. He was 93.
The son of the late Phillip Constantino and Bessie Santora Constantino, he was born May 3, 1924 in Monroe.
Sam was a proud veteran of the United States Army and fought during WWII and participated in the conflict in the South Pacific. For his service Sam was a Purple Heart recipient amongst other awards and medals. Sam was talented golfer and enjoyed his time with friends and family on the golf course; and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Patricia Jackson Constantino, at home; three daughters: Susan Horton of Wurtsboro, Beth Constantino of Fredericksburg, VA, and Joan Pray & her husband Al of Longmont, CO; four grandchildren: Jaclyn Jennex (Brad), Eric Horton (Nikki), Katey Pray (Patrick) and Emma Pray; six great grandchildren: Lucas, Sophia, Natalie, Alexandra, Mia & Samuel; a sister: Philomena Gordon of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law: John C. Horton and two brothers: Benjamin & Joseph Constantino; five sisters: Anna & Mary Constantino, Josephine Mancino, Bessie Broadhead & Rose Olsen.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the John C. Horton Scholarship fund in Architecture at SUNY Orange Foundation, 115 South Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
