Obituary of Eddy Lindstadt
Please share a memory of Eddy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward Charles Lindstadt III, "Eddy" died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home in Monticello. He was 36.
The son of Margaret "Peggy" Kreiter Lindstadt and Edward C. Lindstadt Jr., he was born March 18, 1981 in Monticello.
Eddy was the most kind-hearted person you will ever meet. He was always there to lend a helping hand and his smile would just lighten up any room. His unique and contagious laughter was something that will never be forgotten. To know Eddy was to love him! Eddy loved his family with his whole heart, always there when you needed him. He cherished his sister Suzanne and niece Kayla who meant the world to him. Eddy had a tremendous love for animals - he would bring home any animal he thought needed his help. He'd just as quickly bring home a horse, goat, or unwanted rooster, as he would a cat or dog and love them all the same. Eddy had a special connection with horses since he was a little kid and worked many years as a Wrangler Trail Guide at Hadley's Stables riding and training every horse there was.
As a kid, Eddy was a gymnast and could still pull off a round off back handspring and sometimes throw in a back tuck. He enjoyed downhill skiing, soccer, and wrestling. His love for wrestling continued throughout his life. He loved music and enjoyed his days as a DJ in local clubs and celebrations. Eddy was a jack of all trades - he worked as a plumber, carpenter, roofer, and was the go to guy for any of his family and friends with car problems.
Eddy was known for racing his championship car, 18E at Bethel Motor Speedway. He was a true champion and sportsman in his own right. He often filled in as an announcer at the speedway and was a fan favorite.
Eddy touched the hearts of everyone who came to know him, and has left his own special imprint on them. You will recognize them by their broken hearts. He will be missed beyond words and will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his parents: Ed and Peggy of Monticello; his sister: Suzanne Lindstadt & her daughter Kayla of Monticello; aunts/uncles: Ellen Neumann of Liberty, Kathy Kreiter and her husband John Silva of Monticello, and Leroy Messenger of Monticello; cousins: Geri Neumann, Barbi Neumann Marty, Keith Restrepo, Kyle Kreiter, Jamie Yonker, Angela Fiola, EllenRose and Erin Duffy, Dianna and Sofia Marty, Dillon and Caleb Kreiter, and Skyla Restrepo.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Helene and Edward C. Lindstadt Sr. and Alice and Jerry Kreiter, and aunt/uncles Judy Messenger, Peter Kreiter, and Eric Neumann.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Monday, September 11 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 12 at 11am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello with Fr. John Tran officiating. Burial will follow at Messenger Cemetery in Southwoods, Monticello.
