Obituary of Lawrence Edward Crawford

Lawrence E. Crawford, resident of Rock Hill, NY and North Port, FL passed away on June 21, 2013 at the age of 77 years. Born July 29, 1935 in Monticello, NY he was the son of late William and Sadie Crawford. Lawrence retired as a mason from Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 5 Newburgh, New York, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees serving during the Korean War. He loved fishing, entertaining and telling old family and war stories to his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Debra and her husband, Kenneth Whipple in Rock Hill, NY. Grandsons Ehren and Christopher Steingart. His son, Steven Crawford and his wife Karen in North Port, FL; son-in-law, Horst Glamsch in Tampa, FL and step-daughter, Deanna Soultanakis in Middletown, NY. He is also survived by his brothers Ronald Crawford (Carol) in Melbourne, FL; Mark Crawford (Chris) in Monticello, NY; Noel Crawford (Anita) in New York, NY; many loving nieces and nephews, and his little companion, Matteo always by his side. He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta; son; Brian; brothers, Jerome, Clinton and Glenn Crawford. Visitation will be held from 10:00am -12:00pm on Saturday, June 29, 2013 followed with a service at 12:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Interment with military honors will follow at the Glen Wild Cemetery.
