Richard J. Knight of Wurtsboro, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 63. The son of the late Frank Knight and Helen E. Becker Knight, he was born November 13, 1953 in Brooklyn. Richard was an amazing son and brother, but most of all he was the best Uncle and great Uncle anyone could ask for. He overcame many obstacles in his life and taught everyone to maintain a positive attitude no matter the hand they were dealt. Richard enjoyed several hobbies, such as, arts and crafts, listening to music, being with family and the occasional gambling. His laughable and inquisitive personality was contagious. He truly impacted all those around him with his smile and art, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews including, but not limited, to Renato DeGuzman Jr., his wife, Francine, and their daughters, Charlotte and Lila, Frank DeGuzman, his partner, Kim, and their daughters, Nevaeh and Athena, Richard DeGuzman, his wife, Kelly, and their son, Richard II. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 11 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, NY with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Wurtsboro. For additional information or to send an online condolence, please visit www.kennyfuneralhome.com
