Joseph Matthew Policano of Cuddebackville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 9, 2016 in the Town of Wallkill. He was 27. The son of Matthew Policano and Angela Thompson Policano, he was born October 26,1989 in Bedford, TX. He grew up in Wurtsboro and lived in Cuddebackville for the past five years. He was the eldest grandchild of his beloved grandparents, Joseph and Kathleen Policano. He was predeceased by his grandfather in January and will be laid to rest with him. A roofer by trade, Joe was always quick to extend a helping hand and went out of his way to offer his support to anyone in need. His warm smile and ebullient spirit will be deeply missed by all. Aside from his parents his survivors include his fiancée, Tara Schoonmaker and her daughter Kyla; his grandmother Kathleen; brothers Jacob & Joshua; his uncle Christopher Policano, his uncle and aunt Matthew and Lisa Pearson and his cousins: Simone & Gabrielle Policano. He also leaves behind many friends. Family & friends are invited to gather on Sunday, May 21 from 2-5pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Burial will be private.
