Obituary of Rose Raimond

Rose Raimond of Monticello NY passed away peacefully in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Catskill Regional Medical Center on May 11, 2017. Born March 27, 1929 in Brooklyn NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Fannie (Cropanese) Raimond. Rose was a retired Registered Nurse, starting her career in public health, then hospital nursing as an operating room nurse, emergency department nurse, nursing supervisor and administrator. Rose was a member of the Monticello Kiwanis for 25 years: past president and energetic member involving the scholarship programs, dinners, and other Kiwanis fund raising events. She was a supporter and fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the WSUL Heart-a-Thon. She was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan attending many games with her Aunt Tessie. Later she became an avid NY Mets fan knowing each game's Mets roster and well as most of the ball players in the National League. Rose and her son-in-law Peter had many chats about the games and players actions. Rose is survived by her daughters: Gloria Cahalan, and Jane Lake & her husband Rick Lake; her granddaughter Tricia Cahalan; her daughters' father and friend Joseph Angerami; her brother Ralph Raimond and his wife Helen; her sister–in-law Ruth (Crist) Cawein and husband Charlie; and many cousins and friends. Rose was predeceased by her parents; her husband C. Fred Crist DVM; and her son-in-law Peter Cahalan. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Monday evening at 6:30pm at the funeral home with Fr. John Tran officiating. Interment of her ashes will be held at the convenience of the family.
