Obituary of Russell George Glueck

Russell George Glueck, a local architect and longtime resident of the area, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home in Wurtsboro. He was 88. The son of the late Gilbert Glueck and Marie Rohrer Glueck, he was born July 1, 1928 in Chicago, IL. Russell was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Mamakating American Legion. He was also a former member of the Mamakating Planning Board, and an active member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg where he was an usher, and he recently designed the new addition to the church. He also designed banks, locally and throughout New York State, as well as in New Jersey, California, Texas and the Bahamas. Survivors include his husband: John A. Drumm whom he has been with for the last 57 years; a sister: Janet Sack of Chicago, IL; a niece and four nephews, and their families; a sister-in-law: Rose Heery of Reno, NV. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother: Kenneth. A memorial mass will be celebrated at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mamakating First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 525, Wurtsboro, NY 12790. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
