Obituary of Raymond W. Tremblay, Sr.

Raymond W. "Big Ray" Tremblay, Sr. of Phillipsport went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2017. He was 69. Ray was born on July 16, 1947 in Goshen to Gladys Fenner Tremblay and Joseph Tremblay. He grew up in Goshen until he was 18 years old when he married his love Marie Travis. Shortly afterwards, he joined the US Air Force serving with the 3902nd Air Wing from 1966 to 1970. After his honorable discharge, he became a drive owner operator working for several large trucking companies until his retirement in 2008. Ray leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Marie; four children: Victoria François & her husband Leonard of Amsterdam, OH, Raymond Tremblay Jr. & his wife Sherrie of Phillipsport, Ann Young & her companion Mike McGlinch of Easton, PA and Paul Tremblay & his companion Jessica DeCicco of Napanoch; 13 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three sisters: Arlene Steinhielber and Pat Weslowski, both of the state of Florida, and Florence Bedford of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Joe, John and Tom Tremblay. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, April 6 from 11am to 1pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. A memorial service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Camille Regholec officiating.
