Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen L. Reno
July 16, 1929 - February 24, 2017
Monticello, NY
Helen Louise was born in Williamsport, PA to Otto and Anna Stuempfle. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired, dedicated secretary of 27 years with the Monticello School District. Prior to that, Helen served as secretary at St. Peter's Rectory.
Helen, always energetic, was a past den mother, CCD teacher, President of the Mother's Guild, Ladies of the Knights, an avid bingo player, music lover, and faithful parishioner of Liberty and Monticello St. Peter's Churches.
Helen was predeceased by siblings Otto and Ray Stuempfle, granddaughter Allyson Strong and infant son Michael.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Peggy Scott & her husband Jim; her children, Gary Reno & his wife Lynn, Gail Rowley & her husband Dave, James Reno & his wife Barbara, and Jeffrey Reno & his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Heather Conrad, Katy Sforza & her husband Rocco, Brien, Andrew, Dylan and Alexander Reno; along with several nieces, nephews and numerous dear friends.
Helen was a true people person, most notably known for cheerfully greeting the children at the Cooke and Rutherford Schools. Her gift of knowing all their names, as well as their families brightened many days. She was warm and compassionate, always lending a helping hand, she would even bring bagels to a sick friend if needed. Helen enjoyed life and could always be found shopping or at a Penny Social, a church dinner, Bethel Woods concert, harvest festivals, parades, and flea markets. Whenever Helen could, she loved to travel and have fun with her sister Peggy. Her overall love, pride and joy was being with her family for Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays and always frequently checking in to visit.
If I had a single flower for every time I think of you, I could walk forever in my garden.
