Obituary of Michael D'Abbraccio
Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael D'Abbraccio of Monticello died on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after struggling with a long time rare lung disease. He was 55.
The son of Nicola D'Abbraccio and the late Anna Fidanza D'Abbraccio, he was born November 15, 1961 in Castello del Matese, Italy.
Mike moved to Sullivan County, New York in the early 1980's and started several very successful Italian Restaurants and Pizzerias. Mike is most well known as being one of the owners of Naploli's Pizza on the corner of Broadway and Landfield Avenue. In most recent years, he was an owner of Michaelangelo's Restaurant in Jeffersonville, NY. Mike was a warm and convivial host, always referring to his many longtime customers as friends. Mike was an extremely hard working, kind, compassionate, and understanding man. He was always willing to help anyone or any cause in need. Aside from being a dedicated member of his community Mike was a loving husband and father. He took enormous pride in the accomplishments of his four children. Nothing gave Mike greater pleasure than being surrounded by his wife and children. Mike was completely enamored by their accomplishments and their dedication to being kind and doing their best. He will be forever grateful to his wife, Jacqueline, for her devotion and nurturing nature while raising his children and caring for him until his very last day.
While his life was short, Mike enjoyed as much of it as possible. He enjoyed traveling with his family, holiday gatherings, watching sporting events, and spending time with his many canine companions. His family and friends will greatly miss his kindness, humor, and the infectious nature of his smile and laugh.
Mike is survived by his wife: Jacqueline Accomando D'Abbraccio, at home; three sons: Joseph, Anthony, & Michael; a daughter: Demi; a sister: Maria "Joanne" Bova & her husband John; his father: Nicola; and many nieces and nephews.
