J. Kenneth Willisch of Monticello, a retired police officer for the NYPD, Motorcycle 1 in the Bronx, died Friday, May 31, 2013 in Middletown. He was 80. The son of the late Hans Willisch and Elsie Liessner Willisch, he was born September 1, 1932 in Queens. A Korean war veteran of the United States Army, Ken was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liberty and was a past exalted ruler for the Monticello Elk's Lodge #1544. He is survived by his wife: Joan E. Wilson Willisch, at home; a son: Kenneth F. Willisch & his wife Colleen of Carmel; and four grandchildren: Kenneth P. Willisch of Brooklyn, Ashley B. Willisch of Queens, Cathryn Delarosa & her husband Hector of Brooklyn, and Patrick B. Willisch of Carmel. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 24 Chestnut Street in Liberty with Rev. Johanna Andritz officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
