Juan Cabrero, "Mr. Meow", a housekeeping/maintenance worker for New Hope Community in Loch Sheldrake, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home in Kiamesha Lake surrounded by his family. He was 61.
The son of Teodoro Cabrero and Victoriana de Carmen Rodriguez, he was born December 27, 1951 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico.
He is survived by his wife: Mariluz Rosa, at home; his parents: Teodoro and Victoriana; his children: Josue Cabrero & his wife Jessica Redner, Emmanuel Cabrero & his wife Yaileen Herrera, Jennifer Lynn Cabrero & her husband Rolando Nieves, and Jasmine Cabrero; six grandchildren: Christofer, Jabriel, Jameel, Abdiel, Keyshmi and Janaiyah; his siblings: Luis R. Cabrero, Isabel Cabrero, Carmen Colon, Hipolito Cabrero, Victor Cabrero and Alexander Cabrero; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son: Isandel Cabrero; and a brother: Edwin Cabrero.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 22 from 5-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00am at Iglesia de Dios (Church of God), 19 Woodcliff Avenue in Monticello. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the family would be appreciated.
